Signature Noodles $10.80

šŸ’šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø7 | 7 | 7.5 | Honestly, these noodles really hit the winter spicy noodle cravings. A nice mix of spicy and salty, with a proportionate amount of soup, these noodles are definitely good for value. Personally though, I felt like the sauce was a bit too salty for my liking, and the noodles themselves weren’t as chewy as I hoped - probably packaged noodles rather than homemade in my opinion, but there’s definitely nothing wrong with that.

šŸ’šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø7.5 | 8 | 8 | No matter what ingredients are used, I always love to go for thicker noodles that have a nice bite to them. These noodles had a nice texture, perfect for a cold winter day. What I really liked was the option of spice level which really reflects on the enjoyment of the dish. I personally like to believe that I have a high spice tolerance so the spice level didn’t affect me too much but I like that the option can be adjusted.

Homemade Wontons with Pork Mince $9.80

šŸ’šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø7 | 7.5 | 7 | The wontons were similar to the noodles in that they hit the spot for winter spicy food cravings. I can’t really do spicy food that well HAHAHAH so I guess when I had these I definitely choked on some extra spicy parts. The wontons themselves were filled with a pure pork filling, which I felt was a little bit disappointing since it seemed a bit too compact. The other thing is that the wonton skin became a little bit soggier as the meal progressed, but I guess that can’t be helped. I do like my wonton skin a bit harder though.

šŸ’šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø7 | 7 | 8 | I can’t claim to know what traditional wontons taste like however these ones were highly reminiscent of the wontons my mum makes at home! The pork filling was quite tasty and went really well with the chilli oil the wontons were floating in. Although the dish looks incredibly spicy, it was quite tolerable but tasty.

Steamed Chicken with Chilli Sauce $8.80

šŸ’šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø7 | 7.5 | 7 | In chinese this dish is called ā€˜Spit Chicken’ in that it’s meant to be so delicious that you drool over the chicken. In my opinion, this one didn’t quite hit the spot. Although the chicken pieces were nice and tender, and the peanut bits on top were quite delicious too, it didn’t have that special oomph that I remember from eating the same dish in China (but that could be from MSG too I guess)

šŸ’šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø7.5 | 7 | 7 | I personally don’t really like bones so when I took a massive bite from the first chicken piece I picked up, I was in dismay to find I had crunched right into the bone of the chicken. Nonetheless, the chicken was quite juicy however it was hard to tell what I was putting in my mouth at some point since the ingredients were all pretty much the same colour AHAHAH

Spicy Sliced Beef and Ox Tongue $8.80

šŸ’šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø7 | 6 | 7 | Once again, in Chinese, this dish is meant to be ā€˜Husband and Wife Lung Slices’. If you’ve never had this dish before, it would sound a bit scary, but I’ve had some really good versions around some Sydney restaurants. I was really confused when they brought this out because it was only like the English description ā€˜sliced beef’ with random parts of tripe in the middle, which did not match the chinese description? The taste was alright though

šŸ’šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø8 | 7.5 | 7 | Anything to do with ox tongue please sign me up. I generally love ox tongue prepared in Thai cuisine but the way this restaurant prepared it was also quite delicious and very different in the flavours offered. This was the one dish where the spice actually hit me a little bit. What is interesting about most of these side dishes is that they are served cold, no idea why but it is still tasty.

Deep Fried Crispy Pork (With Homemade Chilli Powder) $9.80

šŸ’šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø7 | 7.5 | 7.5 | This dish was a bit of a yikes for me since I’m not a big fan of both pork and also fried food. I guess for a pork dish it was nice, and the presentation was quite nice too !

šŸ’šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø7.5 | 7.5 | 7 | Anything with fried and crispy in the same title, please sign me up. Not sure if we just waited too long but the pork was not as hot (temperature wise) as I would have wanted but it still had a nice bite to it nonetheless.
